Jayson Tatum Injury

As the Celtics settle into an off season, there are obvious concerns about star-player Jayson Tatum. After suffering a season-ending injury during the playoffs, the Tatum has put out a short update on his X feed yesterday: "Day 25...the days are starting to get a bit easier".  Obviously, this is exactly the news Celtics fans are pleased to hear but there is still a long way to go. The team have not released any updates on a timeline for Tatum's return, but a typical Achilles injury is a minimum of 9-12 months of recovery.   

Mazzulla Hates Rookies

Joe Mazzulla, head coach, has never been one to shy away from blunt honesty and this week's revelation is no different. Coming in hot off of his rookie season, Baylor Scheierman has revealed what Coach Mazzulla told him when he joined the team: "I don't really like rookies so you're gonna have to battle this year, and that's how it is." With the way that the Celtics salary cap is looking, this is not good news. If some serious trades are not completed this off season, Celtics are in for a huge bill over wage bills. Mazzulla may have to get over his issues with rookie players and suck it up for the sake of the team.

Jrue Holiday Trade

NBA salary cap expert, Yossi Gozlan has come up with a proposal involving a 3-way trade for Holiday. The deal involves the LA Clippers and the Washington Wizards and looks like this:

Clippers get: Jrue Holiday and Xavier Tillman

Celtics get: Kris Dunn, Saddiq Bey and Colby Jones

Wizards get: Bogdan Bogdanovic, Drew Eubanks and 28th pick in the draft.

Holiday is a fan favourite (specifically this fan) at the Celtics but there is no denying that he is not the player he used to be. He is not getting any younger and with 3 years still on his contract, now would be the time to do the trade making it the most beneficial for all involved.
