Celtics Corner

Goodbye Jrue
In a heartbreaking move (for me, personally), my beloved Celtics have traded Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers. The Celtics are in an historic rebuild at the moment with 4 of their current starting 5 either injured or traded to other teams. Jrue Holiday was traded this week in exchange for Anfernee Simons and 2 second round draft picks.
Holiday was originally on the Blazers before being traded to Boston and has now returned. The team have freed up around $40 million by making the trade.
...And Porzingis
In a complicated 3-team trade deal, we also say goodbye to another starter; Kristaps Porzingis. This time the deal is between the Celtics, the Hawks and the Nets.
To summarise the trade:
Boston receive:
-Georges Niang
-Second round pick
Atlanta receive:
-Kristaps Porzingis
-Second round pick
Brooklyn receive:
-Terance Mann
-Drake Powell (22nd pick)
Jayson Tatum Recovery Frustrations
Initially, we had a positive update from Tatum following his surgery to repair the torn Achilles he suffered during the playoffs. That positive mindset may well have changed as we see the star update his social media followers: "Day 45...This is some bullshit." We know that the recovery for such major surgery is going to take Tatum out for the whole of the 2025-26 season. Nonetheless, understandably, there will be ups and downs in the process. Fingers crossed we will see JT back in action very soon!
